DESCRIPTION

The Winnipesaukee Playhouse in Meredith, New Hampshire, is looking to fill a role in a traditional British Panto. Panto (short for “pantomime”) is a joyously wacky, irreverent retelling of a classic fairy tale and a popular holiday tradition in England since the Victorian Era. Panto is a wacky mish-mash of dance, music (standards and pop hits), groan-worthy comedy bits, and the ever-popular “Panto Dame,” a wisecracking breeches/drag role.

The Playhouse is seeking a male-identifying actor of any racial/ethnic background to play “BUTTONS,” the zany comic bellhop at Stoneybroke Hall, the Inn owned by Ella’s father, Baron Basil Hardup. Anyone applying should be a competent tap dancer.

SALARY: $400 / week

ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION: Housing, Gym Membership, Travel Stipend (for out-of-state actors, amount depends on point of origin)
