This is a part-time position, generally at 25 hours each week. While the schedule has some flexibility, it does include evenings, weekends, and some holidays. The Westside Theatre operates as a fully-vaccinated workplace.
Responsibilities include:
-Processing tickets through the Telecharge STAR system, including single ticket sales, group sales, company house seat orders, and other ticket requests
-Responding to audience questions and concerns, independently troubleshooting and resolving customer service issues with patrons while keeping record of any ticketing incidents or issues
-Maintaining initiative-taking communication with theatre administration, production general- and company-management, and fellow box office personnel
-Working with Shubert Ticketing to troubleshoot ticketing and equipment issues
-Authorizing requests for ticketing refunds, exchanges, or past dates as appropriate
-Having a thorough understanding of and enforcing theatre and production ticketing policies
-Maintaining the box office bank for cash sales and auditing at the end of each day
-Working with the company managers to audit and finalize each performance, providing all necessary sales reporting
-Building and activating marketing codes, price adjustments, and other back-end work within the STAR system
-Effectively communicating information on current and future productions to patrons, including show descriptions, ticket policies and prices, and ADA accessibility for both of our theatres
-Working closely with other front of house staff, production staff, and theatre administration, granting admittance to backstage areas and receiving deliveries
-Other duties as assigned by Box Office Treasurer, General Manager, or Operations Manager
Applicants must be self-motivated, calm under pressure, forward-thinking in communication and customer service, and collaborative. The ideal applicant will have previous box office and/or front of house experience, attention to detail, discretion and diplomacy, experience handling cash, proficiency in computerized programs (including Microsoft Office and G Suite), and a sense of humor. Previous experience with a computerized ticket system, especially the Telecharge STAR system, is preferred.
