For 89 years, Ogunquit Playhouse has been the jewel of Maine's southern seacoast, delivering world-class theatre and creating memories for generations.

Ogunquit Playhouse is seeking a highly organized and motivated associate to support the Executive Artistic Director and Producing Director to ensure the successful implementation and vision of the company’s theatrical works. The Artistic & New Works Associate will be responsible for supporting Mainstage, and Educational programming as well as coordinating the Playhouse’s New Works’ efforts. Responsibilities will include supporting the Producing Director in contracting, budgeting, and all elements of production administration.

The Artistic & New Works Associate will also work with the Executive Artistic Director to develop and execute the New Works Program.

Responsibilities Include:

ARTISTIC and PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

· Assist in season programming, planning and research; tracking titles, and create ongoing season drafts

· Assist in requesting licensing, contracts & tracking payments

· Create and draft language for various grants and artistic related correspondence in coordination with the Artistic Director

· Assist in researching and connecting with industry creatives and insiders

· Take clear, concise, detailed notes to relay to departments at production meetings, and email notes to each department following meeting

· General support for the 2022 season of performances at all venues

· Facilitate design conversations between Executive Artistic Director, designers, and other creatives

· Assist in the creation and management of production/seasonal crew job postings

· Assist in the Playbill creation for each show to include work on the masthead based on licensing contracts, song list, personnel lists

· Assist in general administrative functions for the Executive Artistic Director and the team when needed

NEW WORKS DEVELOPMENT

· Research, develop, and Coordinate schedule of script perusals and readings

· Participate in New Works Dramaturgy; providing notes and feedback towards development of new works

· Oversee and coordinate New Works readings in NYC and Ogunquit including venues, production management, creatives coordination, casting, legal and IP documents

· Maintain and curate master folder of all titles currently in development

· Maintain industry invitation lists

· Research and development: keep track of new works, development, researching shows for Executive Artistic Director to view, and opportunities in new reading contracts

· Create/draft language for new works grants

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

· Great initiative and the ability to vision and grow the new works programs with a strong team

· Strong familiarity with New York City and the theatre industry and comfort working in and out of New York City

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, detail and deadline-oriented environment

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Publisher, Power Point, Outlook) and Google Calendar/Docs.

· Database experience (Tessitura a plus)

· Impeccable attention to detail and problem solving skills.

· A team player strong verbal and written communication skills.
