Introducing virtual summer programming for teens ages 11-18 at Primary Stages Off-Broadway theater. Do you have a teen in your life looking for a theatrical outlet this summer? The good news about virtual programming is you can participate from anywhere in the world! Invite your friends and family to join Primary Stages Playmakers Summer Camp and On-Camera Auditioning Classes!

Playmakers Virtual Summer Camp (for ages 11-13)
Instructors: Christianne Greiert (Actor, Producer, and Teaching Artist; Producing Artistic Director of Clutch Productions) and Mêlisa Annis (Writer, Director, and Dramaturg; Faculty, NYU Tisch Dramatic Writing Program)

Playmakers Camp Session 1: July 20 – 24 from 12:30 – 4pm ET
Playmakers Camp Session 2: August 3 – 7 from 12:30 – 4pm ET

A virtual summer camp dedicated to nurturing creativity! Led by theater professionals, young artists will gain an understanding of theater, playwriting skills, and basic acting technique as it relates to creating a character. The one-week Playmakers camp will culminate in a virtual variety show. While camp utilizes Zoom to connect with students for daily sessions, screen time will be limited and focused on group activities such as coaching sessions, games, and guided hands-on experiences. All students will be encouraged to try non-internet-based activities as well to engage their creativity and enrich their theatrical understanding.

Online Class: On-Camera Auditioning (for ages 14-18)
Instructors: Amelia Campbell (Tony-nominated Actor, Coal Country at The Public, A Streetcar Named Desire on Broadway, Netflix's "Mindhunter", Leaves of Grass) and Anthony Arkin (Actor and Filmmaker, I'm Not Rappaport on Broadway, “The Americans”)

Wednesdays from 1:00pm – 4:00pm ET
August 5, 12, 19, 26

Teen performers are faced with a lot of uncertainty right now, and as artists you need to prepare for a theatrical landscape that is potentially very different from what you have been immersed in for so long. By exploring theater in an online form, you will be able to imagine all of the potential instead of fighting the change, allowing you to innovate as artists and be ahead of the game as you approach college auditions. This class is an intimate and intensive dive into the preparation and experience of both the live and self-taped on-camera audition.
