DESCRIPTION

Columbia University's School of the Arts MFA Directing class of '28 are seeking Actors for their class showings throughout the Spring 2026 semester.

Performing in a showing will generally require Actors be present in Morningside Heights/Manhattanville for a few rehearsals on Columbia’s campus and one class meeting overseen by professors Brian Kulick (Classic Stage Company, The Shakespeare Society of New York, The Elements of Theatrical Expression) and Moises Kaufman (Tectonic Theater Project, The Laramie Project, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde)

Directors will schedule rehearsals based on Actors’ availability and room reservations.

While class showings will vary in style and scale based on the assignment and Director, all MFA Directing '28 candidates are looking for Actors who are confident in memorizing text quickly, eager to explore on their feet, and passionate about meeting and collaborating with emerging creatives. Please note that Actors do not receive financial compensation for performing in class showings.
