DESCRIPTION

Columbia University's School of the Arts MFA Directing '27 candidates are seeking Actors of all ages and experience-levels for their class showings throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.

Performing in a class showing will generally require Actors be present in Morningside Heights/Manhattanville for a few rehearsals on Columbia’s campus and one class meeting overseen by professors Anne Bogart (SITI Company, A Director Prepares, The Viewpoints Book) or Brian Kulick (Classic Stage Company, The Shakespeare Society of New York, The Elements of Theatrical Expression). Directors will schedule rehearsals based on Actors’ availability and room reservations.

While class showings will vary in style and scale based on the assignment and Director, all MFA Directing '27 candidates are looking for Actors who are confident in memorizing text quickly, eager to explore on their feet, and passionate about meeting and collaborating with emerging creatives. Please note that Actors will not receive financial compensation for performing in class showings.
