Brown, who sat down with WBAI radio host David Kenney, said in an interview, "There's still a long way to go before [The] Bridges [of Madison County] opens [on Broadway], and if Honeymoon in Vegas manages to take its step to Broadway after Paper Mill, then that will be consuming a lot of my time. And then there's the movie of 'The Last Five Years' coming out… I believe — knock on wood — that there will be a movie of 13 coming up maybe in the next year, so that's really thrilling to me."

As for other upcoming projects, Brown said he is adapting a piece with playwright Claudia Sheer and writing another piece with Marsha Norman, who penned the book for the Broadway-bound Bridges of Madison County.

Brown is also revamping a show written by Charles Aznavour with Tony Award winner Alfred Uhry, whom he collaborated with on Parade.

Brown's Bridges of Madison County is scheduled to begin previews Jan. 13, 2014, at the Schoenfeld Theatre, and Honeymoon in Vegas will open at Paper Mill Playhouse Oct. 6.
