News Mame Concerts Will Feature Linda Lavin, Beth Leavel, Annie Golden, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka and More 54 Sings Mame, part of the 54 Sings Series, will be presented Dec. 7 at 7 PM and 9:30 PM at 54 Below.

The concerts at the intimate Manhattan venue will feature songs from the classic Jerry Herman musical. Music director is John McDaniel.

Currently scheduled to perform are Tony winner Linda Lavin, Tony winner Beth Leavel, Donna Lynne Champlin, Eric Michael Gillett, Annie Golden, Hunter Ryan Herdlicka, Dee Hoty, Pamela Myers and Lee Roy Reams.

Mame, based on Patrick Dennis' novel "Auntie Mame," features a score by Jerry Herman and a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The original Broadway production opened in May 1966 at the Winter Garden Theatre with Angela Lansbury as Mame and Bea Arthur as Vera Charles. Both Lansbury and Arthur won Tony Awards for their work. A subsequent film version cast Lucille Ball as the vivacious Mame. The classic Herman score includes such tunes as "If He Walked Into My Life," "It's Today," "Open a New Window," "Mame," "Bosom Buddies" and "We Need a Little Christmas."
