Tonya Pinkins, Amber Iman and Christy Altomare Sing New Material From the Factory Floor Aug. 25

Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins (Holler If Ya Hear Me) is among the lineup for From the Factory Floor, a benefit concert for the Musical Theatre Factory that is held Aug. 25 at Joe's Pub.
The 9:30 PM concert — celebrating MTF's inaugural summer season of developing new musical theatre — also features Christy Altomare (Spring Awakening), Amber Iman (Soul Doctor), Grace Mclean (Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812), Anne L. Nathan (Once), Jed Resnick (Avenue Q), Julia Burrows, Kathleen Cameron, Michael Desouza, Remy Germinario, Lizzie Hagstedt, Amy Linden, Alyse Alan Louis, Samantha Massell, Jeremy Morse, Ben Moss, Shakina Nayfack, Taylor Noble, Larry Owens, John Riddle, Dmitry Rubaii, Jenna Rubaii, Amanda Savan, Jahn Sood, Josh Tolle, Joel Waggoner and Luke Wygodny.
The evening promises songs from over 15 new musicals, and all of the writers share material workshopped over the course of the summer at Musical Theatre Factory.
Writers include Danny Abosch, Brandon Anderson, Scotty Arnold, Nikko Benson, Beth Blatt, Ben Bonnema, Will Buck, Lisa Whitson Burns, Julianne Davis, Lizzie Hagstedt, Benjamin Halstead, Michael R. Jackson, Anna Jacobs, Nichole Jackson, Laura Kleinbaum, Kevin Michael Jones, Peter Lerman, Brandon Michael Lowden, Dimitri Koltunov, William Oosthuysen, Kendell Pinkney, Sam Salmond, Zoe Sarnak, Christopher Staskel, Jahn Sood, Niko Tsakalakos and Joel Waggoner.
Musical Theatre Factory is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to "helping musical theatre artists develop and present new work in a collaborative atmosphere free from the pressures of critical or financial success."
