The production has an official opening Oct. 22 and runs through Nov. 16 at Tresnjak's renowned home theatre in Hartford.
Here's how the production is billed, "In Hamlet, a Danish prince returns home to find his father killed, and his mother marrying the murderer. When his father’s ghost rises to demand retribution, Hamlet is put in an impossible situation. In this opulent, Elizabethan staging, Hamlet’s tragic tale of revenge will get the full-on, terrifying — and bloody — treatment. "
In addition to Appelman, the cast includes Curtis Billings as Rosencrantz, Kate Forbes (The School for Scandal) as Gertrude, Edward James Hyland (Arcadia) as Polonius, five-time Helen Hayes Award winner Floyd King as Bernardo/Leading Player, Andrew Long as Claudius, Cliff Miller as Guildenstern, Anthony Roach as Laertes, James Seol (A Naked Girl on the Appian Way) as Horatio and Brittany Vicars as Ophelia.
