The Verdict: Critics Review Disney's Aladdin on Broadway

The Disney stage musical Aladdin, featuring new and existing songs from the 1992 animated film, officially opened on Broadway March 20 at the New Amsterdam Theatre.

Tony Award-winning director-choreographer Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) is at the helm of Aladdin, which — through bright colors and flashy choreography — takes audiences to the Middle East. Previews began Feb. 26 following an out-of-town engagement at Toronto's Mirvish Theatre.

Adam Jacobs and Courtney Reed co-star as Aladdin and Jasmine, respectively. Read more about the new Broadway musical here.
