Michael John LaChiusa's See What I Wanna See, the complex and dramatically refracted musical based on the writing of Ryunosuke Akutagawa that premiered at the Public Theater in 2005, will return to New York for a limited presentation at the Producers Club in October.

Directed and choreographed by Jason Wise (Showgirls The Musical, Bayside), See What I Wanna See will be staged Oct. 2-5 at the Producers Club's Royale Theatre. It has musical direction by Brandon Magid and is produced by Colbylocks Productions.

Featured in the production are Ben Liebert (Wicked) as the Janitor/Priest, Brian Bailey (Cats, The Wizard of Oz) as the Medium/Aunt Monica, Parker Krug (Rent Boy: The Musical) as Morito/Husband/CPA, Nate Suggs (Beauty & The Beast) as the Thief/Reporter and Colby Levin (Seussical) as Kesa/Wife/Actress.

The staging promises new and unexpected elements, including silk work.

According to press notes, the three-part musical "explores lust, greed, murder and redemption. An innocent bystander, a cunning thief, a flirtatious wife, a psychic, even the ghost of a murdered man are all caught in a web of deciet, where everyone's truth may be a lie."

LaChiusa is a five-time Tony Award nominee. His works also include Giant, Marie Christine, Hello Again, Queen of the Mist, Bernarda Alba, The Wild Party, First Lady Suite and others.
