Producers Jayson Raitt, Barbara Whitman, Steven Chaikelson and Second Stage Theatre announced that the acclaimed comedy Murder for Two, recently seen at Second Stage Theatre Uptown, will transfer to New World Stages beginning Oct. 23.

The production will officially open at New World Stages – Stage 5 Nov. 6 and continue through Jan. 5, 2014.

Murder for Two features book and music by Joe Kinosian, book and lyrics by Kellen Blair and direction by Scott Schwartz and stars Jeff Blumenkrantz and Brett Ryback.

“We’re proud to give this amazing gem of a musical, and its knockout performers, a new run at New World Stages,” said producer Jayson Raitt in a statement. Barbara Whitman added, “The fantastically funny and highly theatrical production of Murder for Two has delighted New York theatergoers all summer at Second Stage Uptown and we’re thrilled to be able to spread the laughter through the end of the year.”

"Everyone is a suspect in Murder for Two," press notes state, "a hilarious musical murder mystery with a twist: one actor (Brett Ryback) investigates the crime, the other plays all of the suspects (Jeff Blumenkrantz) and they both play the piano! A zany blend of classic musical comedy and madcap mystery, this 90-minute whodunit is a highly theatrical duet loaded with killer laughs."

The production features scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Andrea Lauer, lighting design by Jason Lyons, sound design by Jill BC DuBoff and choreography by Wendy Seyb.
