66th Annual Tony Awards, "Smash" Songwriters, Jane Lynch, Mandy Patinkin, Nathan Lane Among 2013 Emmy Nominees

Nominations have been announced for The 65th Primetime Emmy Awards, which will be hosted by Broadway star and Emmy-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris and air live Sept. 22 at 8 PM ET on CBS from the NOKIA Theater L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.



The 66th Annual Tony Awards, presented in June 2012, has been nominated for Outstanding Writing For A Variety Special, Outstanding Special Class Programs, Outstanding Music Direction, Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics and Outstanding Technical Direction.

Stage stars who have been honored for their work on screen include Jeff Daniels, Claire Danes, Benedict Cumberbatch, Al Pacino, Jessica Lange, Jim Parsons, Edie Falco, Bobby Cannavale, Peter Dinklage, Mandy Patinkin, Jane Lynch, Sofia Vergara and Jane Krakowski, among many others.

Noted theatrical director and choreographer Warren Carlyle was nominated for his choreography of "Rodgers & Hammerstein's Carousel (Live From Lincoln Center)," and Alan Menken and Glenn Slater were nominated for their original song "More Or Less The Kind Of Thing You May Or May Not Possibly See On Broadway" heard in "The Neighbors."

Additionally, the television musical drama "Smash" received two nods for its music. Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman were nominated for "Hang The Moon," and Andrew McMahon was nominated for "I Hear Your Voice In A Dream."
