Casting has been announced for the Mint Theater Company production of George Kelly's Philip Goes Forth, which will feature Teddy Bergman and Christine Toy Johnson.

Jerry Ruiz (Love Goes to Press, Basilica) directs the play that had its premiere in 1931 at the Belasco Theatre. The Off-Broadway revival will begin Aug. 24 and continue through Oct. 20. It officially opens Sept. 16.

In addition to Bergman (Peter and the Starcatcher) and Johnson (Hello, Dolly!), the cast will feature Cliff Bemis, Bernardo Cubria, Jennifer Harmon, Carole Healey, Natalie Kuhn, Brian MacDonald, Jennifer McVey and Rachel Moulton.

According to the Mint, "Philip Goes Forth tells the story of a young man who rebels against his father and a career in the family business. He leaves home and ventures to New York to write plays without his father's support or blessing, but with this warning: 'Don't imagine, whenever you get tired floating around up there in the clouds that you can drop right back into your place down here — that isn't the way things go!' Kelly's humorous examination of one young dreamer remains an exquisite portrait of coming-of-age in modern America."

The Mint production will have scenic design by Steven C. Kemp, costume design by Carisa Kelly, lighting design by Christian DeAngelis and sound design by Toby Algya.

Following will be London Wall by John Van Druten and directed by Davis McCallum (The Whale). Performances begin Feb. 1, 2014. The play "explores the tumultuous lives and love affairs of the women employed as shorthand typists in a busy solicitor's office in 1930's London," according to the Mint.
