The Verdict: Critics Review David Byrne-Fatboy Slim Musical Here Lies Love at the Public Theater

Here Lies Love, the flashy pop musical by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim that traces the political ascent of Filipino leaders Imelda and Ferdinand Marcos, officially opened April 23 at the Public Theater.



Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson and Peter and the Starcatcher Tony nominee Alex Timbers stages the 90-minute, immersive production that began previews April 2 and has been twice extended through June 2.

Here Lies Love has music by David Byrne of The Talking Heads and DJ Fatboy Slim, with lyrics by Byrne. Ruthie Ann Miles (Avenue Q, Band Geeks) and Jose Llana (Spelling Bee, Flower Drum Song) co-star as Imelda and Ferdinand Marcos, respectively.
