Susan Blackwell, Tom Kitt, Kathleen Marshall and Matthew Broderick were part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival's Nov. 11 gala honoring four-time Tony Award nominee Kelli O'Hara at the Hudson Theatre.
Blackwell ([title of show]) hosted the 6 PM gala, which also celebrates the work of the artists and achievements of the 2012 festival. The evening included cocktails, dinner and musical performances celebrating NYMF's recent summer run.
Video tributes by Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked, "GCB"), Matthew Morrison (The Light in the Piazza, "Glee") and John Lithgow (The Columnust) were slated to be part of the evening.
Also set to participate were O'Hara's Nice Work co-star, Broderick, and the musical's director-choreographer, Marshall. O'Hara's husband, Greg Naughton, was also part of the evening.
Additional presenters and performers included Kitt (Next to Normal), Tony Danza (The Producers), Peter Cincotti (How Deep Is The Ocean), Eric Leviton (How Deep Is The Ocean), Lorinda Lisitza (Triumphant Baby!) and Michael Ogborn (Baby Case).
The cast of Broadway's Chaplin, which was developed at NYMF, offered a special performance.
O'Hara is currently starring in the Broadway musical Nice Work If You Can Get It, for which she was Tony Award-nominated. She also received Tony nominations for South Pacific, The Pajama Game and The Light in the Piazza. This spring she will star in the Off-Broadway premiere of Far From Heaven.
