PHOTO ARCHIVE: Celebrating John Lithgow's Onstage Career

Six-time Tony Award nominee (and two-time winner) John Lithgow celebrates his 67th birthday on Oct. 19. Playbill.com looks back at a stage career that spans over 45 years. The 1973 production of The Changing Room marked Lithgow's Broadway debut, winning him a Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Play. He has since played over 20 roles on Broadway, earning additional Tony nominations for Requiem for a Heavyweight, M. Butterfly and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.
