By Andrew Gans
Tony winner Betty Buckley, who is currently offering The Other Woman: The Vixens of Broadway at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, is scheduled to sing the National Anthem at the Oct. 7 New York Giants game.
Buckley will perform prior to the Giants vs. Cleveland Browns game at 1 PM ET; CBS will broadcast the sporting event live from the MetLife Stadium.
The award-winning actress is playing Feinstein's through Oct. 27.
Buckley is celebrating Broadway's second female leads, who have introduced classics like "When You're Good to Mama" (Chicago), "Another Suitcase In Another Hall" (Evita), "I Know Things Now" (Into the Woods), "Ribbons Down My Back" (Hello, Dolly!), "Whatever Lola Wants" (Damn Yankees) and "The Miller's Son" (A Little Night Music).
The Cats Tony winner — who is joined by Christian Jacob on piano, Tony Marino on bass, Vic Juris on guitar and Todd Isler on drums — is also featuring selections from her new CD, "Ah Men! The Boys of Broadway," which was recently released by Palmetto Records.
Betty Buckley offered acclaimed performances in Broadway's Sunset Boulevard, Carrie, Song & Dance, The Mystery of Edwin Drood, 1776, Triumph of Love and Promises, Promises. She won a Tony Award for her performance as Grizabella in the Broadway production of Cats, and she starred on the London stage in Promises, Promises and Sunset Boulevard, earning an Olivier Award nomination for her work in the latter. Her screen credits are numerous. Buckley will be inducted into the Theatre Hall of Fame in 2013.
