Bernard Telsey, Justin Huff, Jay Binder, Tara Rubin Among Casting Directors Nominated for 2012 Artios Awards

The Casting Society of America (CSA) will present the 28th annual Artios Awards, celebrating outstanding achievement in casting in film, television and theatre, Oct. 29 at ceremonies in New York and Los Angeles. Bernard Telsey, Justin Huff, Jay Binder, Craig Burns and Tara Rubin are among the 2012 nominees.



Presented annually, the awards are given on the criteria of "originality, creativity and contribution of casting to the overall quality of a project." The Oct. 29 award ceremonies will be held simultaneously at the The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles at 6 PM PT and at XL Nightclub, Cabaret & Lounge in New York at 6 PM ET.

Among the productions nominated are the Tony Award-winning productions of Once, Death of a Salesman and The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess as well as Newsies, Evita, A Streetcar Named Desire and Nice Work If You Can Get It, among others. The NBC musical drama "Smash," cast by Telsey and Tiffany Little Canfield, was also nominated.

Honorees for this year's Career Achievement Award, Hoyt Bowers Award and The New York Apple will be announced at a later date.
