2010 Artios Awards Recognize Casting for American Idiot, Circle Mirror and View From the Bridge

Casting directors Cindy Tolan, Jim Carnahan and Alaine Alldaffer are among the winners of the Casting Society of America's 2010 Artios Awards, which were presented Nov. 1 in New York and Los Angeles. The Artios Awards recognize outstanding achievement in casting on stage and film, on the "criteria of originality, creativity and contribution of casting to the overall quality of a project." The 26th annual Artios Awards were held in Manhattan at the American Airlines Theatre and in Los Angeles at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. New York presenters included David Duchovny, Carla Gugino, John Benjamin Hickey, Anthony Mackie, Aasif Mandvi, Elizabeth Marvel, Zachary Quinto, Christina Ricci, John Slattery and Lily Taylor. Lily Tomlin hosted the Los Angeles event. Los Angeles presenters included Ty Burrell, Viola Davis, Victoria Justice, Diane Lane, John Lithgow, Joe Manganiello and Vanessa Williams. Tony Award-winning actor Jeffrey Wright, who earned a Tony Award for his performance in the original Broadway production of Angels in America: Perestroika, also presented playwright Tony Kushner with the 2010 New York Apple Award in New York. Others who received special recognition were Marcy Carsey ("The Cosby Show," "Roseanne"), who received the Career Achievement Award; and Ellen Chenoweth ("Terms of Endearment," "Good Night & Good Luck"), who was honored with the Hoyt Bowers Award.
