Max Crumm Joins Cast of Off-Broadway's Disaster! Starting Feb. 14

Max Crumm, best known for winning the reality television series "Grease: You're the One That I Want!" and subsequently starring in the Broadway revival as Danny Zuko, joins the cast of Disaster!, the critically acclaimed 1970s disaster movie musical written by Seth Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick and directed by Plotnick, Feb. 14 at the St. Luke's Theatre.
Crumm takes over the role of Scott, replacing original cast member Robb Sapp. The production also recently welcomed David Hibbard to the role of casino owner Tony Delvecchio and Judy Gold to the role of Shirley.
A send-up of the 1970s disaster movie genre, Disaster! features some of the best songs of the 1970s, including “Hot Stuff,” “Don't Bring Me Down,” “I Am Woman,” “Alone Again Naturally,” “Signed Sealed Delivered,” “Knock On Wood,” “Daybreak,” “Sky High” and more.
"It’s 1979 and New York City’s hottest partiers are blowing out their feathered hair and putting on their best polyester threads and platform shoes to head to the grand opening of the Barracuda," press notes state, "Manhattan's first floating casino and discotheque. Little do they know that their night of boogie fever will turn into a . . . Disaster!"
The cast also features Haven Burton as Marianne, Charity Dawson as Lavora Verona, Matt Farcher as Chad, Tom Riis Farrell as Maury, Stacey Oristano as Jackie, Seth Rudetsky as Professor Ted Scheider, Jennifer Simard as Sister Mary Downy and Jonah Verdon as Ben and Lisa. Playing multiples roles in the ensemble are Sherz Aletaha, Saum Eskandani, and Maggie McDowell. Drew Geraci and Ashanti J’Aria are the company swings.
The musical has set and lighting design by Josh Iacovelli, costume design by Brian Hemesath and sound design by Brett Rothstein. Larry Pressgrove is the music director, and Steve Marzullo is the music supervisor. Drew Geraci is the associate director and associate choreographer. Jeff Davolt is the production stage manager, and Tom Kosis is the assistant stage manager.
