American Psycho, the world-premiere musical by Tony Award-winning Spring Awakening composer Duncan Sheik and playwright Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, based on the 1991 Bret Easton Ellis novel, opened Dec. 12 at London's Almeida Theatre.
The musical thriller, set during the height of the 1980's era of Wall Street greed, is directed by Rupert Goold (Macbeth, King Lear, Enron). American Psycho has music and lyrics by Sheik (Spring Awakening) and a book by Aguirre-Sacasa (Spider-Man, "Glee"). BAFTA Award-nominated "Doctor Who" star Matt Smith stars as serial killer Patrick Bateman in the production that will continue through Feb. 1, 2014.
