Rupert Holmes' A Time to Kill (adapted from the best-selling John Grisham novel) tells the story of Carl Lee Hailey (John Douglas Thompson), a black man who guns down the two white men who assaulted his daughter. Attorney Jake Brigance (Sebastian Arcelus) must battle district attorney Rufus Buckley (Patrick Page) to defend his client, and fight the powers that be on both sides of the racially divided Mississippi town. The cast is headed by Tom Skerritt, Ashley Williams (both making Broadway debuts), Tonya Pinkins and Fred Dalton Thompson. The production opened Oct. 20 at the John Golden Theatre.
