"Thatís So Raven" star Anneliese van der Pol has joined the cast of the upcoming industry reading of the musical Ghostlight, which will be presented Dec. 2 at the New 42nd Street Studios.

Ghostlight, which has book, music and lyrics by Matthew Martin and Tim Realbuto, tells the "true story of Ziegfeld Follies girl and silent film star Olive Thomas, her rise to fame in the Follies alongside Fanny Brice, her affair with a married Ziegfeld, her Hollywood marriage to movie star Jack Pickford, and ultimately her tragic downfall which led to her mysterious death at age 25 in Paris," according to press notes.

Van der Pol (Beauty and the Beast, Vanities) will play the central role of Olive Thomas, joining previously announced Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli as Florenz Ziegfeld, Jr., Trevor McQueen as Jack Pickford, Kimberly Faye Greenberg as Fanny Brice, Rachel Bay Jones as Molly Cook and Jennifer Hope Wills as Doris/Cora/Lois Long and others. Casting for the role of Billie Burke will be announced shortly.

Ghostlight had a sold-out and extended run at Off-Broadway’s Signature Theatre in 2011 as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival. It was directed by creators Martin and Realbuto.

Although the reading is closed to the public, the creators have initiated a raffle to anyone who donates to their IndieGoGo campaign. The winner of the raffle will receive two seats to the special event; click here to donate to Ghostlight and enter the raffle.
