Elliott Gould, who is currently featured on the Showtime crime drama "Ray Donovan", celebrates his birthday Aug. 29. Playbill.com takes a look at his stage career. Happy birthday, Elliott!

Gould, who was nominated for an Academy Award for "Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice", is well-known for his acclaimed starring roles on film and television, including M*A*S*H; The Long Goodbye; Capricorn One; Oceans Eleven; E/R and many more.

Elliott was last seen on Broadway in 1983 with The Guys in the Truck. His other Broadway credits include Rumple; Say, Darling; Irma La Douce; I Can Get It for You Wholesale; Drat! The Cat! and Little Murders, in which he also starred in its film version. He made his West End debut in On The Town and has appeared in touring productions of The Fantasticks and Ira Levin's Deathtrap. Elliott also starred as the Jester in the first TV production of Once Upon A Mattress.
