Beginning June 10 stage and screen veteran Paul C. Vogt will make his Chicago debut in the role of Roxie's all-but-invisible husband, Amos Hart. Vogt takes over for Raymond Bokhour, who will play his final performance June 9.
The Broadway company also features Amy Spanger as Roxie Hart, Amra-Faye Wright as Velma Kelly, Christine Pedi as Matron "Mama" Morton (through June 23) and R. Lowe as Mary Sunshine. As previously announced, talk-show host Wendy Williams will make her Broadway debut as Matron "Mama" Morton beginning June 25.
Chicago won the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical in 1997 as well as awards for actors Bebe Neuwirth and James Naughton, director Walter Bobbie, lighting designer Ken Billington and choreographer Ann Reinking. The original production was directed and choreographed by the late Bob Fosse. The modern classic has music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Ebb and Fosse.
