Terry Schnuck, James and Catherine Berges, Crystal Beuerlein, and Michael and Noemi Neidorff's production of Falling, the new play by Deanna Jent that officially opened Off-Broadway Oct. 15, will play its final performance at the Minetta Lane Theater Dec. 30.
When it closes, the critically acclaimed drama will have played 80 performances and 21 previews.
Directed by Lori Adams, the open-ended run began previews Sept. 27. Several performances were canceled following power outages due to Hurricane Sandy.
Falling is described as a new drama "about how 18-year-old Josh, who has autism, affects the lives of everyone around him. When a relative comes to visit, the entire family is thrown off their equilibrium, with everyone trying to balance what is best for the family and what is best for them."
The production has set design by John C. Stark, costume design by Tristan Raines, lighting design by Julie Mack and sound design by Raymond Schilke. Rick Sordelet serves as fight choreographer.
Falling was developed at Mustard Seed Theatre in the fall of 2011 and won the 2012 Kevin Kline Award for Best New Play.
Performances are Tuesday at 7 PM, Wednesday-Saturday at 8 PM with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2 PM and Sunday at 3 PM.
Tickets are available at TicketMaster.com or by calling (800) 982-2787. Minetta Lane Theatre is located at 18 Minetta Lane, one block south of West 3rd Street, just off Sixth Avenue. For more information visit FallingPlay.com.
