Once Upon a Time in New York City, a benefit concert featuring new material from emerging songwriters celebrating the city of New York, is offered Oct. 14 at Joe's Pub.

For the 9:30 PM concert, which benefits The Actors Fund, musical theatre writers — ages 19-90, who were born everywhere from Kansas City to San Francisco to Montreal — wrote a song about someone who changed their idea of New York City.

Contributing composers include Danny Abosch, Gaby Alter, Jake Brandman, Nick Cearley, David Dabbon, Zina Goldrich, Adam Gwon, Paul Scott Goodman, Marcy Heisler, Caleb Hoyer, Joe Iconis, Michael R. Jackson, Galt MacDermot, Julia Mattison, Lauren Molina, Tim Murphy, Ryan Scott Oliver, Willem Oosthuysen, Bill Russell, Dick Scanlan and Zack Zadek.
