Originally scheduled to open Nov. 28, the production will now open the following evening, Nov. 29, at the Music Box Theatre. Previews will still begin Nov. 3.
Dead Accounts reunites Butz with Catch Me If You Can and Dirty Rotten Scoundrels director Jack O'Brien, who will stage the dark comedy. Butz (Speed-The-Plow, Is He Dead?, Wicked) will portray prodigal son Jack, with Holmes ("Dawson's Creek," "Pieces of April," "The Ice Storm") as his sister Lorna.
The play had its world premiere last winter at the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Additional casting, creative duties and an on-sale ticket date will be announced.
Dead Accounts is produced by Jeffrey Finn, John N. Hart Jr., David Mirvish and The Shubert Organization. Finn recently produced Rebeck's Seminar on Broadway.
Rebeck was a Pulitzer Prize finalist as the co-author of Omnium Gatherum. Her plays also include Bad Dates, The Scene and The Understudy and more. She has also authored the feature films "Harriet the Spy" and "Gossip," and earned a Peabody Award for "NYPD Blue." She is the creator of the NBC musical series "Smash."
Tickets go on sale to the general public Aug. 18 at 10 AM ET.
