Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheldon Harnick is hopeful that his musical adaptation of Moliere's A Doctor In Spite of Himself will receive a New York production, according to the Observer.
Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me, Fiorello!) penned book, music and lyrics to the musical adaptation of Moliere's farce, which premiered in April 2011 at the William Inge Festival.
Harnick told the Observer that he was in discussions with Classic Stage Company for a production next season. The Off-Broadway company's upcoming season includes Passion, Ivanov and Caucasian Chalk Circle.
