PHOTO CALL: Rock Musical Memphis Opens on Broadway

Chad Kimball and Montego Glover and the cast and crew of David Bryan and Joe DiPietro's new musical Memphis celebrated opening night Oct. 19 at the Shubert Theatre.
Director Christopher Ashley, choreographer Sergio Trujillo, the creators and more were on hand for the opening which was celebrated with a post-show party at the Hard Rock Cafe.
"In the smoky halls and underground clubs of the segregated '50s," as show notes explain, "a young white DJ named Huey Calhoun fell in love with everything he shouldn't: rock and roll and an electrifying black singer."
Memphis also features J. Bernard Calloway, James Monroe Iglehart, Cass Morgan, Derrick Baskin and Michael McGrath. The ensemble includes Jennifer Allen, Brad Bass, Tracee Beazer, Kevin Covert, Hillary Elk, Bryan Fenkart, Dionne Figgins, Rhett George, John Jellison, Candice McCall, Sydney Morton, Vivian Nixon, John Eric Parker, Jermaine R. Rembert, LaQuet Sharnell, Ephraim Sykes, Cary Tedder, Danny Tidwell, Daniel J. Watts, Katie Webber, Charlie Williams and Dan'yelle Williamson.
