The acclaimed revival of Equus will offer a special performance to benefit the Actors Fund of America Jan. 11, 2009.

The 8 PM performance of the Peter Shaffer play will benefit the non-profit organization. Daniel Radcliffe and Richard Griffiths co-star.

In Equus, press notes state, "psychiatrist Martin Dysart investigates the blinding of six horses, a savage act committed by an unassuming 17-year-old stable boy, Alan Strang, whose family life is rife with bigotry and religious fervor. As Dysart exposes the truths behind the boy's demons, he finds himself face-to-face with his own."

Equus plays the Broadhurst Theatre, located in Manhattan at 235 West 44th Street. Tickets, priced $66.50-$116.50 (with premium seats at $251.50), are available by calling (212) 221-7300, ext. 133.

The Actors Fund, which was founded in 1882, is a non-profit organization that provides for the social welfare of all entertainment professionals. Some of the many programs The Actors Fund provides include a nursing home and assisted living care facility; senior and disabled programs; mental health services; chemical dependency services; entertainment industry assistance programs; the Phyllis Newman Women's Health Initiative; the AIDS Initiative; and supportive housing on both coasts.
