Eric Bogosian Will Lend a Taste of Bitter Honey to LAB Benefit Readings

The Labyrinth Theater Company will benefit from the trunk of company member Eric Bogosian when the playwright-performer reads his Bitter Honey for the company May 21 and 22 at The Public Theatre.
The special reading is part of a benefit evening of under-performed and never-performed Bogosian works. The performance will include monologues and material from This is Now! (Bogosian's collaboration with Elliot Sharp) and from early versions of his solo works Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll; Pounding Nails in the Floor with My Forehead; and Wake Up and Smell the Coffee.
Bogosian, a LAB company member since 2005, describes the troupe as "what theater could be, should be and will be. A company that is deeply devoted to their craft and to one another. It doesn't get any better than LAB."
The writer and actor — currently seen on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and in LAB's The Last Days of Judas Iscariot — is known for his plays Talk Radio, subUrbia, Humpty Dumpty, Red Angel, Griller and more.
The Off-Broadway troupe presented Bob Glaudini's A View from 151st Street, Brett C. Leonard's Unconditional and Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Little Flower of East Orange during its 16th season. The company will also present developmental runs of Rebecca Cohen's Penalties & Interest (June 10-28) and Scott Hudson's Sweet Storm (June 20-21).
Tickets ($25) for Bitter Honey at the Public, 425 Lafayette Street (at Astor Place), are available by calling (212) 513-1012, or online at LABtheater.org. Special "Sweet Seats" are also available for $125 — which include "guaranteed reserved seating and a swag bag, filled with an autographed Playbill, a Bitter Honey poster, an archival DVD of Sex, Drugs & Rock & Roll, and more ($100 is tax-deductible)," according to an announcement. A limited number of $25 rush tickets will also be available for purchase an hour prior to each performance (cash only; limit 2 per person).
