Danny Bayne is Danny Zuko and Susan McFadden is Sandy Dumbrowski in the London production of Grease, which officially opens at the Piccadilly Theatre Aug. 8. Previews for the revival of the fifties-set musical began July 25.

Bayne and McFadden were declared the winners of the ITV reality casting show "Grease is the Word," which went head-to-head and, according to viewing figures, lost out to the BBC's "Any Dream Will Do," which found a new Joseph in Lee Mead.

McFadden, 24, is the sister of pop star Brian McFadden. "The first thing I'm going to do is drink a big bottle of champagne. I worked very hard to get here," she said after winning the role of Sandy.

The cast for Grease also includes Sean Mulligan as Kenickie, Jayde Westaby as Rizzo, Lee Martin as Doody, Richard Hardwick as Roger, Bennett Andrews as Sonny, Alana Phillips as Frenchy, Laurie Scarth as Jan, Charlie Cameron as Marty, Jason Capewell as Vince/Teen Angel, Tim Newman as Eugene, Siobhan Dillon as Patty and Marie Daly as Miss Lynch.

The London production is a revival of David Gilmore's 1993 version. The show is produced in the West End by Paul Nicholas and David Ian, who appeared on "Grease is the Word" as one of the judging panel along with promoter David Gest (best known as Liza Minnelli's ex) and choreographer Brian Friedman, who has choreographed for Britney Spears.

Written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, Grease received its world premiere as a play with music in Chicago's Kingston Mines Theatre in 1971, before reaching Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre as a fully staged musical the following year.
