Jim Stanek, who was recently seen in the Kennedy Center production of Carnival, will play a brief engagement in Off-Broadway's I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change.

Stanek will return to the long-running musical at the Westside Theatre April 9. He will play a two-week run through April 22. Stanek is stepping in for Bryan McElroy who, according to a press release, "is recuperating from a minor knee injury." The cast also currently features Courtney Balan, Anne Bobby and Will Erat.

Jim Stanek has appeared on Broadway in Lestat, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Rivals, Little Women and Indiscretions. His Off-Broadway credits include Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris; Slut; I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change; and Captain's Courageous.

I Love You. . . is written by Joe DiPietro (book and lyrics) and Jimmy Roberts (music); Joel Bishoff directs.

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change plays the Westside Theatre, 407 West 43rd Street. For more information visit www.loveperfectchange.com.

On May 9 the Chinese production of I Love You will begin a limited engagement at the Westside, playing in rep with the New York version.

Billed as the first time in American theatre history that a foreign production of an American musical will play in the United States, the 23-performance run is a co-production of Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre and Broadway Asia Entertainment and will play six shows weekly.

The Chinese company will perform the show entirely in Mandarin, with English supertitles projected above the stage. The rep situation continues to June 3.
