PLAYBILL VIP SPOTLIGHT: Marymount Manhattan College Presents Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens Directed by Bill Russell

Developed as a reaction to the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s, Bill Russell (book and lyrics) and Janet Hood’s (music) Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens features songs and monologues that give voice to those lost to the disease and as well as those who loved them. Here, Playbill stopped by rehearsal for the upcoming Marymount Manhattan College production which is directed by Russell himself. With musical direction by Paul Jacobs, the production will feature a cast of 40 musical theatre students, alumni and faculty. Purchase tickets for the Jan. 24 and 25 shows here.
