Men of Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark Strut Their Spider-Stuff for 2013 Calendar
Reeve Carney and the 13 other actors that play “Spider-Men” in Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark came out in support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS to pose for a brand new 2013 calendar. Along with Carney, the 14 month calendar features Marcus Bellamy, Julius Carter, Adam Ray Dyer, Drew Heflin, Craig Henningsen, Reed Kelly, Ari Loeb, Adam Roberts, Josh Sassanella, Brett Thiele, Matthew James Thomas, Christopher Tierney and Matthew Wilkas. All clad in form fitting Spider-Man costumes, the cast bent their bodies into their best (and most heroic!) arachnid-like poses for the camera, while chatting about what they bring to the show and why they love dressing up in the famous red and blue costume of the web slinger. Holed up in a seedy motel on the edge of the Mojave Desert, two former lovers unpack the deep secrets and dark desires of their tangled relationship, passionately tearing each other apart. Led by director Daniel Aukin (Back Back Back at MTC, 4,000 Miles), Tony winner Nina Arianda (Venus in Fur at MTC, Born Yesterday) and Sam Rockwell (A Behanding in Spokane, The Way Way Back) bring an explosive intensity to Sam Shepard’s (Buried Child, True West) landmark myth of the new Wild West.
