Lea Salonga, George Takei and Telly Leung Ready for World Premiere of Allegiance

Director Stafford Arima (Off-Broadway's Carrie) was joined by Jay Kuo (music, lyrics, book), Jay Theone (book), Mark Acito (book) and the cast of Allegiance, including George Takei ("Star Trek"), Telly Leung (Godspell) and Tony winner Lea Salonga (Miss Saigon), to introduce themselves and the production as they kicked off the first day of rehearsal. The new musical, set for a world premiere at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, charts the lives of Japanese-Americans who were imprisoned in internment camps during World War II. The show will play the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage at the Old Globe from Sept. 7 – Oct. 21. For more on the production, click here.
