Highlights From Goodspeed Musicals' Mame

Goodspeed Musicals' new production of the muscial Mame stars Tony nominee Louise Pitre (Mamma Mia!) as the free-wheeling bohemian Auntie Mame, a friend, confidant and eventual matchmaker to her orphaned nephew Patrick (played by Eli Baker as a child and by Charles Hagerty as an adult). With rousing music and lyrics by Jerry Herman ("Open a New Window," "It's Today" and the title tune) and a book by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee (based on the novel "Auntie Mame" and the subsequent stage play), the Connecticut revival of the 1966 show is directed by Ray Roderick (Goodspeed's My One and Only and Singin' in the Rain) and choreographed by Vince Pesce (associate choreographer of Broadway's Anything Goes). Judy Blazer plays boozy Vera, with Kirsten Wyatt as impressionable Agnes Gooch. For more on the production, click here.
