The Vault: Broadway's Original Carrie Team Talks Fact and Fiction Of the Famous '80s Flop, Part 2

Tony winner Betty Buckley (who played Margaret White, Carrie's unstable mother), Charlotte d'Amboise (who played popular girl Chris, Carrie's nemesis) and press representative Jim Baldassare sat down with Playbill to recount the highs and lows of the original Broadway production of Carrie. Although it became famous as a flop, Buckley, d'Amboise and Baldassare regard it as a show with an amazing amount of unfulfilled potential. In Part 2, the trio recalls the cheers and boos of opening night on Broadway, the subsequent closing a mere three days later, and the power of the show that still resonates with theatre fans more than twenty years later.
