April in Times Square is nothing like April in Paris. It’s hectic, antic and tense. Last week a bunch of Tony-hopefuls opened on Broadway. This week, it was the same deal, with four, count ‘em, four, musicals opening in quick succession.

It’s that time of year, when a few shows open on Broadway every week, all vying to the same media attention and end-of-season awards. This week saw the openings of Hand to God, Gigi and Wolf Hall.



In Case You Missed It: Hamilton's Already Breaking Records, While Groundhog Day and Cats Announce Broadway Plans
03 Apr 2015 -- The Broadway revival of David Hare’s Skylight — the first-ever Broadway revival of any Hare play — starring Carey Mulligan, Bill Nighy and Matthew Beard recreating their acclaimed London performances (this is the second time Nighy has played his role) — officially opened April 2 at the John Golden Theatre. The show is directed by perennial golden boy Stephen Daldry.
