The highly anticipated, star-studded film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical Les Misérables will hit theatres on Christmas Day. With the film release a few months away, Playbill.com has surfed the web for some of our favorite performances of "I Dreamed a Dream" from the musical.
The iconic ballad, performed by the character of Fantine in Les Miz, features music by Claude-Michel Schonberg and original French lyrics by Alain Boublil. The song was later translated to English by Herbert Kretzmer, and features orchestrations by John Cameron.
Throughout the years, "I Dreamed a Dream" has been performed all over the world on stage, in concert and on screen and television. Here are performances from Anne Hathaway, who will star as Fantine in the upcoming film; Patti LuPone, who won the Olivier Award for her performance in the West End; Randy Graff, who originated the role on Broadway; Lea Salonga, who took on Fantine for the 25th anniversary concert; and many more.
You're invited to spend an evening filled with personal tales of difficult choices, bad breaks, worse men and some of the most glorious songs ever written. It's an intimate evening, up close with a legend.
So pull up a chair and order up a drink. Because she's got a life to sing. Tickets as low as $85!
