It looks like we Manhattanites aren't escaping the rain anytime soon. Good thing this weekend is chock-a-block with great shows, all conveniently located in air-conditioned theatres that will keep us dry…and entertained!
So, start planning your weekend and your week ahead.

Saturday, June 27
BEFORE IT CLOSES→ Groundswell, presented by The New Group, will close on Saturday. This haunting thriller is set in post-apartheid South Africa (The Acorn Theatre, 410 W. 42nd St., tickets).
BEFORE IT CLOSES→ The American Ballet Theatre's production of the classic ballet Swan Lake will conclude its run at the Met. Tickets are nearly sold out for the final performance (The Metropolitan Opera House, tickets).
Sunday, June 28
GO→ The annual New York City Gay Pride Parade will march along Fifth Avenue on Sunday. This year's parade is especially poignant, as it falls on the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots. (Kicks off at 11 AM on Fifth Avenue between 52nd & 53rd Streets. If you're a late riser, head down to the Village, where the real party takes place. Click here for the parade route—although, it's pretty hard to miss!)
BEFORE IT CLOSES→ Several Broadway shows will take their final bows on Sunday. They are…
→August: Osage County: The Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize-winning play now stars Phylicia Rashad.
→Accent on Youth: David Hyde Pierce stars in this comic revival directed by Daniel Sullivan.
→Irena's Vow: Tovah Feldshuh gives a heartbreaking performance as real-life heroine, Irena Gut Opdyke. If you don't know the story of Opdyke's fearless actions that saved the lives of over a dozen Jews during the Holocaust, you should make it a point to see this before it closes.
→The Philanthropist, staring Matthew Broderick, will end its limited engagement.

BEFORE IT CLOSES→ Two Off-Off-Broadway shows, FUBAR and #9 will play their final performances on Sunday.
→FUBAR: From the writer of Showtime's "Dead Like Me," FUBAR is a dark look at people living in post dot-com San Francisco amid drugs, sex, money and violence. If you don't know what FUBAR stands for…you will after seeing this show.
→#9: #9 bills itself as a "music theater piece about the technological tools we use-and how they use us."
Both are playing at 59E59 Theatres.
Monday, June 29
GO (FREE)→ Chi-town will throw its annual free concert, "Broadway in Chicago: Concert in the Park" in Grant Park. The concert will feature tunes from hit shows like Jersey Boys, Wicked, Legally Blonde, A Chorus Line and new musicals Dirty Dancing and 101 Dalmatians (6 PM, Grant Park).
Tuesday, June 30
SHE'S BAAACK→ Amy Spanger, who has been out of Rock of Ages since the Tony's due to vocal rest, returns to rock the house! (Brooks Atkinson Theatre, 256 West 47th Street btwn Broadway and 8th Avenue, tickets)
Wednesday, July 1
HUH? → Every now and again, I'll come across an event that really has no connection to theatre, but is so odd that it deserves a mention. Today I stumbled upon one such event. Eighties puffy pants rapper, Vanilla Ice, is hosting an "American Idol" rip-off concert at Irving Plaza. I won't be in attendance — but I'd love a report from someone on what the heck went down if anyone plans on going! (info)
Thursday, July 2
OFF AND RUNNNING→ Vanities, a new musical, will premiere at Second Stage on Thursday. This new musical is based on the 70's hit show of the same name. It's primed for a Broadway revival this winter, so see it now Off-Broadway so you can be one of those people bragging about being "in the know" when it finally hits the Great White Way (8 PM, Second Stage Theatre, 307 West 43rd Street, tickets).
Friday, July 3
GO→ Lincoln Center's Film Society will screen a marathon of musicals starting Friday. The line-up includes classics like "Singin' in the Rain," "Grease" (which will be a a sing along), "Viva Las Vegas," "Cabaret," "Purple Rain," "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Hair," "Pal Joey," "Tommy" and others.
