Newsies at Nederlander Theatre Newsies
Nederlander Theatre

Based upon the real-life New York City newsboy strike of 1899, this high-energy musical with spectacular dancing tells the story of teenaged newspaper boys who become unlikely heroes when they take on the biggest names in publishing. Their battle for justice and fair pay rocks the city of New York and sparks a movement for social change.

Synopsis:
Set in New York City at the turn of the century, the musical is the tale of newsie Jack Kelly, who dreams of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. But when Joseph Pulitzer and William Randolph Hearst raise distribution prices at the newsies' expense, Jack finds a cause to fight for and rallies his army of newsies to strike.
