As with last year's celebration, proceeds go to Phyllis Newman's Women's Health Initiative at The Actors' Fund. Newman and Broadway Cares are co-producing, with this year's "Dames" to include Lucie Arnaz, Laurie Beechman, Joy Behar, Broadway Gospel Choir, The Broadway Kids, Glenn Close (Death and the Maiden), Jane Connell (The Good Doctor), Blythe Danner (Deep Blue Sea), Lea DeLaria (On The Town), Joan Hamburg, Linda Lavin (Diary Of Anne Frank), Karen Mason (Sunset Boulevard), Rita Moreno, Bebe Neuwirth, Phyllis Newman, Christiane Noll, Christine Pedi (Forbidden Broadway Strikes Back), Jane Powell, Lynn Redgrave, Chita Rivera, Elaine Stritch (Show Boat), Mary Testa, Kathleen Turner (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof) and Lillias White. Female cast members from Chicago, The Lion King and The Big Apple Circus will also perform.

Previously announced but no longer attending are Lauren Bacall, Lillias White, Kathleen Turner and Betty Buckley.

The cast of The Lion King will perform at the event, which will be divided into four segments separately directed by Daisy Prince, Ann Reinking, Zoe Caldwell and Kathleen Marshall. Among the writers contributing specialty material is Wendy Wasserstein (An American Daughter).
