News Free Reading of Treem's Orphan Island Presented Jan. 28 Ars Nova's free play-reading series, Out Loud, continues Jan. 28 with Sarah Treem's Orphan Island.

Directed by Melissa Kievman, the reading is scheduled to begin at 7 PM. The cast features Alec Beard and Zoe Kazan.

"Iyo and Maddie live quietly in a lighthouse on Orphan Island, a lobstering community miles off the coast of Maine," according to Orphan Island press notes. "On the night the last ferryboat of the season departs, a woman shows up, drenched to the skin and claiming to have no memory. But Maddie and Iyo remember her well. And there's a long winter ahead of them."

Playwright Treem is also the author of Empty Sky; Against the Wall; Mirror, Mirror; A Feminine Ending; and Human Voices. She also writes for the HBO drama "In Treatment."
