Hamilton cast member Ariana DeBose stars in the central role of Daphne in the new feature-length film thriller Seaside, which is currently filming on location in Oregon. She’s joined by Sharon Washington (Dot, The Scottsboro Boys), who plays her mother, Angela.
Also on board for the film are Matt Shingledecker (Wicked) as Daphne’s boyfriend Roger and Steffanie Leigh (Mary Poppins) as Susanna.
Written and directed by Sam Zalutsky (You Belong to Me), here’s how Seaside is billed: “In Seaside, Daphne moves to Oregon’s windswept coast with her boyfriend, Roger, against her mother’s wishes, when Roger inherits his childhood beach house. But when they run into Susanna, a troubled local woman in Seaside, Daphne discovers that Roger has been less than honest about his romantic past and Daphne must fight not just for her relationship but for her own survival.”
