Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman returns to Broadway Oct. 31 in the new mysterious drama The River, penned by Jerusalem playwright Jez Butterworth. The intimate production, which invites theatregoers to sit inches away from the action, plays the Circle in the Square.
Although it's been tried several times, it's not so easy putting a scary ghost story on the stage. The ghosts often seem friendly or helpful or simply misunderstood. Rarely do you experience the true terror of ghosts in the live theatre.
